About The Tactile Library
Our Mission
The Tactile Library is dedicated to expanding access to high-quality tactile graphics, supporting education and learning for blind and visually impaired individuals. Our mission is to build the world’s largest free repository of tactile graphics, created by a community of educators, designers, and accessibility advocates. By sharing and refining tactile images, we empower learners to experience the world through touch, making complex concepts more tangible and accessible.
Our Connection to American Thermoform and Zychem
The Tactile Library is made possible through the collaboration of American Thermoform and Zychem, two leaders in tactile graphic production and accessibility technology.
American Thermoform has been a trusted provider of braille and tactile graphics production solutions for over 40 years, offering innovative products that enhance learning for visually impaired individuals worldwide.
Zychem is the creator of Swell Touch Paper and the Swell Form machine, industry-leading tools that bring tactile graphics to life. These technologies enable users to print, swell, and produce raised-line images for educational and everyday use. Together, American Thermoform and Zychem support the Tactile Library’s mission by providing the tools and expertise necessary to ensure that every graphic in our collection is optimized for tactile learning. Through this partnership, we are able to offer a free, accessible platform where educators and creators can find, share, and refine tactile graphics to improve learning experiences worldwide.
A Growing Community
The Tactile Library is more than a collection of graphics—it’s a movement. We invite educators, designers, parents, and students to contribute their own tactile images, helping to grow a diverse and useful resource for all. Whether you are looking for ready-made tactile graphics or interested in creating and sharing your own designs, the Tactile Library is here to support you.
Join us as we build a future where learning through touch is limitless.
