Description
Seals are semi-aquatic marine mammals with streamlined bodies, flippers, and a thick layer of blubber. They are well-adapted for swimming, with different species using their fore or hind flippers for propulsion. While they are skilled swimmers, their movement on land varies, with “true seals” lacking external ear flaps and moving by flopping on their bellies, while “eared seals” like sea lions can walk on land using all four flippers.
