Description

A swordtail fish is a freshwater, live bearing fish with an elongated, torpedo-shaped body, known for the male’s distinctive, long, sword-like lower tail fin. They are popular in aquariums, coming in many colors from captive breeding, and are generally peaceful but can be territorial, especially males. Swordtails are omnivores that are easy to care for, making them suitable for community tanks, and females give birth to live, free-swimming fry.
